Lizzie Ehrenhalt is a public historian who specializes in the history of gender and sexuality.

Her book Romantic Sensation: The Queer Lives of Leon Belmont, 1853–1927, will be published by the University of Minnesota Press on October 26, 2026. With Tilly Laskey, Ehrenhalt is a co-editor of Precious and Adored: The Love Letters of Rose Cleveland and Evangeline Simpson Whipple, 1890–1918 (Minnesota Historical Society Press, 2019). Since 2013 she has worked at the Minnesota Historical Society to edit MNopedia, the digital encyclopedia of Minnesota history. 

Ehrenhalt has delivered presentations to a range of audiences, including the American Historical Association (AHA), the National Council of Public History (NCPH), the Association of University Presses (AUP), the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and the Office of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan.

She lives in Minnesota with her spouse and their two cats, Lord Alfred Douglas (Bosie) and Vita Sackville-West.
